Meet Our Team

Maj. Gen. Parker H. Wright is the Commander, Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education, and Deputy Commander, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. The Center advances warfighting through doctrine, education and training, while Air University serves as the intellectual and leadership-development center of the Air Force. Maj. Gen. Wright commissioned in 1996 as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He is a career intelligence officer with a variety of operational assignments, including squadron, group, wing, and joint commands. Maj. Gen. Wright has deployed in support of air operations over Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Balkans. The general’s staff assignments include Headquarters U.S. Air Force, U.S. Air Forces Europe, and the Joint Staff. Maj. Gen. Wright holds advanced degrees from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies and was a National Defense Fellow at the Center for a New American Security. Prior to his current assignment, Maj. Gen. Wright served as the Director of Intelligence and Information for North American Aerospace Defense Command and United States Northern Command, both headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado.

Lt Col Matt Savage is the Deputy Director, Air Force Doctrine Development, LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. In this position, he advocates the Airmen’s perspective while coordinating Service, joint, and multi-national doctrine publications. Lt Col Savage was commissioned in 2009 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Daytona Beach. A career KC-135 instructor and evaluator pilot, Lt Col Savage has served in a variety of operational and training assignments at the squadron, group, and wing level. He has accumulated over 3,100 flight hours, including over 800 combat hours in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. Lt Col Savage holds advanced degrees from Liberty University and Air University. Prior to his current assignment, he was a student at the Air Command and Staff College.

Kevin Williams is the Air Force Issue Resolution Process Team Lead for LeMay Center’s Air Force Lessons Learned Directorate. He and his team work with Headquarters Air Force and commands to resolve complex issues for the warfighter. His previous civilian position was Chief, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Applications Division, with roles as course director for Air Command and Staff College’s (ACSC) Homeland Security elective and faculty for the joint Air War College/ACSC ISR Research Task Force and other Air University electives. Kevin is a 1993 United States Air Force Academy graduate and served almost 23 years, culminating as LeMay Center Director of Warfighting Education responsible for leading planning education courses for 1,200+ students annually, including Flag Officer JPME courses. His first few years on active duty were as a Finance Officer, with time deployed to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia during the Khobar Towers terrorist attack. He then transitioned to operations as an RC-135 V/W RIVET JOINT Electronic Warfare Officer. His operational experience includes over 100 combat, combat support and sensitive reconnaissance operations missions in Operations Joint Forge, Southern Watch, Allied Force, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, counter-narcoterrorist operations and other events worldwide. His leadership assignments include 38th Reconnaissance Squadron Director of Operations, 55th Operations Support Squadron and 38th Expeditionary Reconnaissance Squadron Commander and 55th Operations Group Deputy Commander. Additionally, he served three years as a National Security Agency rated staff officer working various IC programs including Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Signals Intelligence Program Manager and Community ELINT Management Office ISR Division Chief.

Nate Fritz is the Wargaming Operations Division Chief for the LeMay Center’s Air Force Wargaming Institute. He leads a team of Wargame Directors that deliver analytical and educational wargames to the Air Force and Joint Force. Most recently he has supported INDOPACOM, STRATCOM, Checkmate, and AFSOC wargaming projects.  Previously he has led wargaming projects on Air Force Future Force Design and Marine Corps Force Design 2030. He is also an Air Force Reservist with deployments to Afghanistan, Republic of Korea, and Kuwait.

Mr. David Lyle is a Military Strategy & Concepts Analyst for the LeMay Center for Doctrine and Education, A5/7, based in the National Capital Region. Mr. Lyle graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1995, and flew 2400 hours in the B-52H as a navigator and instructor radar navigator, including 43 combat missions over Kosovo and Afghanistan. He served in various command and control assignments, including deputy director of strategy for the 613th Air Operations Center (AOC) at Hickam AFB, Chief of Plans for Afghanistan in the Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC), and in the Pacific Air Forces Inspector General. Mr. Lyle was the 2009 winner of the Brig Gen Benjamin Grierson award for Excellence in Strategic Studies at the US Army Command and General Staff College, and graduated from the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies in 2010. He served as the Director of Operations for the 505th Combat Training Squadron at Hurlburt Field, FL, deployed as the chief of strategic plans for 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force in Kabul Afghanistan from 2012-13, served as the 505th Command and Control Wing Director of Staff in 2014, Chief of the Combined Personnel Recovery Center for Afghanistan 2015-16, and as Chief of Plans for Task Force Liberty during Operation Allies Welcome in 2021-22. Mr. Lyle advised the Defense Innovation Board and DoD Subcommittee for the Ethical Implementation of Artificial Intelligence, and is one of the coauthors of the new Air Force Doctrine Note 25-1: Artificial Intelligence.

Greg Sharpe is a member of LeMay Center’s Air Force Doctrine Development office’s outreach team.  He is a 20 year Air Force Veteran, holding operational assignments in the pacific theater with bomber and tanker forces as an advanced echelon warfighting support team, then a staff action officer assignment in the office of the Secretary of the Air Force, and finally the LeMay Center at Maxwell AFB AL as a web server and database analyst.  After military service he was a software developer for Northrop Grumman Information Technology at the Air Force Wargaming Institute as an inaugural team member for the first server based distributed decision support system for wargames. He was the contract and development lead for the Air University Research Information Management System servicing web-based faculty and student research capabilities for the university. Transitioning into federal service Greg served as a member of the Air University Communications and Outreach office as the chief of outreach and engagement, supporting marketing, digital analytics, digital outreach and engagement efforts.  Greg was responsible for developing and managing the first Air University App and developed and curated over 25 collaborative communities of interest for the university.  He currently serves as a Doctrine Outreach analyst in the Air Force Doctrine Development outreach office.  He is responsible for Air Force Doctrine strategic communications and outreach products and services as well as strategic communications instructional services teaching Public Affairs in Information Warfare for LeMay’s Intel200 course.
