Recently Published Doctrine
The Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education proudly announces the release of three foundational Air Force Doctrine Publications: AFDP 3-50, Personnel Recovery; AFDP 3-52, Airspace Control; and AFDP 3-59, Weather Operations. Together, these publications strengthen the intellectual foundation of the United States Air Force, providing Airmen with the doctrinal knowledge, shared understanding, and operational principles needed to fight and win in today’s contested global environment.
Each publication delivers critical guidance for modern operations and stronger readiness: AFDP 3-50 codifies the Air Force’s responsibility to recover isolated personnel and preserve combat power; AFDP 3-52 ensures the safe, integrated, and flexible use of the air domain; and AFDP 3-59 empowers Airmen to harness environmental intelligence for decision advantage across all domains. These critical publications reinforce the Air Force’s ability to anticipate challenges, synchronize with the Joint Force, and employ airpower with precision and purpose. As threats evolve and competition intensifies, Airmen equipped with doctrinal understanding will act with clarity, agility, and confidence.
